Cengkareng Golf Club, located just 15 minutes from Jakarta International Airport, is a convenient choice for golfers arriving or departing Jakarta. The course, designed by Walter Raleigh Stewart and opened in 1999, is well-regarded and has hosted the Indonesian Open twice, a part of the European PGA Tour.
Though shorter than many modern courses at 6,890 yards, Cengkareng presents a challenge, especially when the wind picks up from Jakarta Bay. Stewart’s design features large mounds and bowl-shaped fairways, creating blind approach shots and emphasizing strategic ball placement. Mature trees and jungle border many fairways, adding to the difficulty.
The signature hole, the par-4 4th, requires a challenging shot over a lagoon to a narrow peninsula green, made more difficult by wind. Water hazards are present on several holes, increasing the course's challenge.
The clubhouse offers excellent facilities, including male and female locker rooms, a pro shop, and the Golfer’s Grill, which serves local and international cuisine. The terrace provides a relaxing spot with beautiful views of the course.
