Ho Chi Minh Golf Courses

The development of new golf courses continues in Vietnam and we have an exciting new addition in Long An Province called West Lakes Golf and Villas. The golf course is situated to the west of Ho Chi Minh city and takes a little over an hour to reach. However, there is plenty of accommodation available closer to the golf course should you wish to stay outside the city.

An enjoyable links style experience somewhat off the beaten track. Whilst it's a fairly lengthy drive from the city to Vung Tau Paradise Golf Resort, those willing to take the trip to the seaside will be rewarded with a 27 holes of links style championship golf on one of Vietnam's least played courses.

Twin Doves Golf Club in Ho Chi Minh is a 27-hole layout about one hour from downtown Saigon which has been designed to blend with the natural terrain. The course at Twin Doves Golf Club is still maturing so not too many trees and the course relies on the many water hazards and bunkers for protection.

Song Be Golf Resort in Ho Chi Minh offers 27 holes with each of the three courses offering a different and unique challenge with numerous water hazards, mature tropical trees, plants and large uneven greens. Higher handicappers should probably avoid the more difficult Desert Course.

The Chau Duc Sonadezi Golf Course, also known as Sonadezi Vung Tau, is a stunning golfing destination located in close proximity to the charming tourist city of Vung Tau. This exceptional golf course was meticulously designed by the renowned Greg Norman. Nestled within a picturesque natural setting, it forms an integral part of a vast urban industrial park sprawling over a sprawling 2,287-hectare site. Visitors to this golfing paradise can enjoy pleasant year-round temperatures and gentle breezes that enhance their golfing experience.

The links-style Sea Links Golf & Country Club in Phan Thiet has a reputation of being one of the most difficult golf courses in Vietnam and you will need to play well to protect your handicap. The golf course architect has carved a courses out of the rolling sand dunes which are common to this part of the coast of Vietnam. It takes around to reach this course so it’s a full days outing from Ho Chi Minh so maybe better to stay overnight and play the courses twice.

Royal Long An Golf & Villas is a luxurious and serene haven for golf enthusiasts and those seeking an upscale retreat in the heart of nature. Two excellent 18-hole golf courses found within an expansive 1,000-hectare integrated resort complex on the southern coast of Vietnam, adjacent to the East Sea, the Garden Course at PGA NovaWorld Phan Thiet is a meticulously landscaped parkland-style design that showcases seamlessly integrated bunkers along the fringes of the verdant green complexes. Routing through native wetlands characterised by numerous lakes and streams, the Zeon Zoysia fairways provide a luxurious surface where golf balls sit up invitingly on a bed of fine, needle-like blades.

Taekwang Jeongsan Country Club in Ho Chi Minh is the latest resort-style golf course to open in Saigon on a huge island in the Saigon River which can be reached by in 30 minute from the pier in District 1 and it takes you direct to the clubhouse. It’s quite a long course but has several tees to choose from so most golfers will be able to find one to suit their ability. The terrain is quite flat but the designer has positioned plenty of bunkers to protect the course.

Ho Chi Minh City situated in southern Vietnam is a fantastic base for a golf holiday in the country. You have some excellent golf courses close by, one of which is Harmonie Golf Park. It takes just over an hour to reach the golf course from the city centre but this is time well spent and you will see why shortly. Harmonie Golf Park opened for play in 2018, making it one of the newest golf courses in the whole of Vietnam. Located in the northern suburbs of Ho Chi Minh City, it is one of two golf courses which are next to each other. The second golf course being Twin Doves Golf Club, so you could easily stay in the area and combine the two if you wish.

Dong Nai Golf Resort in Ho Chi Minh is set around a huge lake making this one of the most scenic golf courses in Vietnam. Dong Nai is a little further out of the city than some of the other golf clubs but the extra travelling time is well worth the effort. In 2003 this course was voted the best in Vietnam and although it would struggle to regain that accolade up against the more recent competition it remains an exceptional layout.

Vietnam Golf & Country is widely recognised as one of the best clubs in the South and is conveniently located about 20 kilometres from downtown Saigon. A 36 hole layout set amidst mature woodlands and lakes.

The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip is another masterpiece from Greg Norman which has really captured the essence of a true links course and is designed around the huge sands dunes with dramatic ocean views. A unique golfing experience in an unlikely location. We think is is probably one of the Best Golf Courses in Asia.

Located next to the busiest airport in Vietnam the Tan Son Nhat golf complex is comprised of 4 9-hole loops to create to 18-hole golf courses. Set within a 36-acre site, the course designers have made the most of the flat landscape to create exciting and challenging golf courses that will test the very best players.

Long Thanh Golf Club is a popular 36-hole layout about 30 kms north of Ho Chi Minh. The two courses are quite different and the Hill Course is more tree-lined and The Lakes Course, as its name suggests, has plenty of water hazards to negotiate. Both course is quite forgiving with wide fairways and close-cut rough which is pretty easy to escape from. The greens also present a large target but if you are not accurate you may have to face a very long putt. In order to protect the course the designer has placed plenty of high-lipped bunkers in strategic locations and many of the fairways are bordered by water ready to catch the errant drive.

Danang Golf Courses

Vietnam is fast becoming a top destination for golf and there are new, high quality golf courses opening every year. Vinpearl Golf Nam Hoi An is one of the new Vietnamese golf courses to open in 2018 and it is set to become one of the best in the country.

At Danang Golf Club, Greg Norman has created a wonderful and authentic links golf course which was voted as one of the best new courses in the world and it certainly lives up to its billing. Fast and firm fairways and greens offering a completely different experience from the traditional Asian layout. One of our favourite golf courses in Vietnam.

Nick Faldo’s 2nd course in Vietnam and his best yet built on a stunning and diverse piece of land with the hills on one side and the white sands of the South China Sea on the other.

Vietnam is a stunning country for a golf holiday and the selection of courses is improving all the time. For those planning a trip to central Vietnam, you have a fantastic golf course awaiting you at Hoiana Shores Golf Club.

Once voted by Forbes magazine as one of the ten most elite courses in Asia this links-style golf course combines many natural features with wind-blown sand dunes and the natural vegetation to create another Monty classic. A feature of the course are the casuarina trees which line most of the fairways and the natural waste areas which cut into many of the fairways. Water comes into play on quite a few of the holes and some of the greens are literally surrounded by bunkers.

The Nicklaus Course at BRG Danang provides a strong test of your golf offers a different experience from the original Norman Course, which was built on top of sand dunes beside the ocean. This course has been built in the middle of a natural flood plain and many of the holes are almost totally surrounded by the natural wetlands or run alongside the Coco River and you can get lovely views of the local villages with the city of Danang as a backdrop.

Bana Hills Golf Club in Danang, Vietnam is the latest golf course to open in Danang. This is the first golf course designed by Luke Donald, the former number one golfer, and when it fully matures it will rank with the best golf courses in Vietnam and will be the forth golf course to open in Danang and the first mountain course in this region.

Hanoi Golf Courses

Amber Hills Golf & Resort, situated in Tien Phong commune within the Yen Dung district of Bac Giang province, is a premier destination just a 50-kilometer drive from Hanoi. It boasts Vietnam's top-notch golf course and offers luxurious resort accommodations. Spanning across an expansive 190 hectares, the golf course features 36 holes, developed in two phases. The first phase introduced the 18-hole Hillside course, which has been operational since August 2017, while the second phase will soon bring the 18-hole Rock Valley course to life.

If you are looking for a beautiful golf course, in an equally stunning setting then you want to head to the Vu Yen Island, located just outside of Hai Phong. Here you will discover the 36- hole golf complex set within an ecotourism area of some 872 hectares. The island is home to a complete complex and is linked to the mainland by a km stretch of cable car.

Van Tri Golf Club in Hanoi is one of the closer golf courses to the city and was one of the first private golf clubs in Hanoi. A top-class course designed by Peter Rousseau it’s a courses which is very playable for high handicappers and will also test and provide plenty of opportunity for the more able golfer to reap the rewards of any risk taking. Never seen so much water on a golf course which is a factor on virtually every hole.

Around 100km south of Hanoi, close to the Dong Chuong Lake and Trang An Scenic complex you will find the Trang An Golf and Country Club. Impressively, the country club boasts it own private air taxi to fly people in from Hanoi, avoiding the need for a long drive. A private members club, the course is a retreat for the wealthy business men and their families.

Nestled within the tranquil embrace of nature, Thanh Lanh Valley Golf and Resort stands as a testament to the seamless fusion of golfing excellence and breathtaking landscapes. Located in [Location], this premier golf destination offers a remarkable escape for both seasoned players and enthusiastic newcomers.

Tam Dao Golf Resort in Hanoi is a top-class and challenging IMG-designed golf course which meanders through the beautiful countryside of the National Park about 90 minutes from Hanoi. The use of modern grasses and design techniques ensure all-year-round playability. Due to its location you will find plenty of elevation changes as the course winds its way around the foothills and the large lake which dominates the landscape. The generous fairways and large undulating greens make good scoring possible as long as you can avoid the many bunkers and water hazards.

Stone Valley Golf Resort is one of the latest editions to the golfing scene in Vietnam. The Asian country is becoming one of the top destinations in the world for a golf holiday and the introduction of new courses such as Stone Valley only serves to enhance its reputation. The closest Vietnamese city to Stone Valley is Hanoi and it will take between one and two hours to make the 65 kilometre trip from Hanoi to the golf course. However, Hanoi makes a great base for playing golf in Vietnam and is easily reached thanks to the Noi Bai International Airport, which is to the north of the city.

The Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club in Hanoi is located in Van Son Lake area and consists of two championship golf courses. The location is spectacular with wonderful scenery all around. The courses can be reached in around one hour from downtown Hanoi and is set to become one of the leading golf resorts in Vietnam. The Sky Course only opened recently but it is already receiving rave reviews from the local Hanoi Golfers. If you don’t like bunkers and our fearful of water hazards then this is not the courses for you as this layout has plenty of both so unless you are accurate pack plenty of balls.

The Lake Course, 7,557 yards long, was voted Vietnam's Most Challenging Golf Course by the Vietnam Golf Association in 2012/2013. The course has many different elevations and terrains, winding around Van Son Lake in the middle of the golf course.

Located some 100KM south of Hanoi, close to the town of Tam Diep, is The Royal Golf Club. The Royal Club is at the heart of the project to increase the Ninh Binh provinces tourist industry, and is the first in a planned 54-hole complex. Situated inland, some 20KM from the sea, and just a stone´s throw from the Yen Thang Lake, The Royal Club enjoys some much-needed cool breezes which not only keep golfers cool, but provide some interesting distractions and swirling winds.

A truly spectacular setting for the Phoenix Golf Resort in Hanoi, a 54-hole complex with views of limestone hills and mountains all around but let down by inconsistent service and maintenance which tends to spoil the experience for most golfers. The course is located about one hour outside Hanoi. The three courses are named Phoenix, Dragon, and Champion. The Champion is a more open links-style course whilst the other two have to cope with the hilly terrain.

A golfer's paradise awaits at Legend Valley Country Club, boasting two pristine 18-hole courses designed by the legendary Nicklaus Design. But let's focus on the South Course, a true standout poised to be a golfer's dream. Soaring Beauty: Prepare to be awestruck. The South Course winds its way through a dramatic landscape, flanked by majestic limestone mountains on the east and south. These giants extend into the North Course, creating a truly unique golfing experience.

Hilltop Valley Golf Club is 60 kilometres to the west of Hanoi. This is a 27 hole golf course is situated between hills, valleys, and the Da River within a spectacular mountain range that provides tremendous views from the golf course. Established in 2019, this is one of the latest additions to the exciting portfolio of golf courses in Vietnam and has been designed by IMG.

Heron Lake Golf Course & Resort in Hanoi which gets its name from the nearby lake is a pretty resort golf course around 90 minutes from downtown with extensive waterways criss-crossing the course with large beach like bunkers alongside.

Hanoi Golf Club which is quite close to Hanoi airport is the only Japanese-managed golf course in Vietnam and wanders over gentle undulating countryside about 40 minutes from downtown Hanoi. There are some very challenging holes involving water carries, elevated greens, deep bunkers and the occasional island green.

Around 170km south of Hanoi you will find the FLC Samson Golf Links, part of the 450-hectare Samson Beach and Golf Resort, one of the most expansive resorts in the region. The beach side location is typical of the links style golf courses that typify the British Isles. A backdrop of the South China Sea, the River Ma and the sand dunes of the Sam Son Beach provide golfers with some truly amazing views as they plot their way around the 7200-yard, par 72 18-hole course.

Opened in late 2010, the 300 acres of Dai Lai Star Golf & Country Club near Hanoi lies in a valley at the foot of the Ngoc Thanh Mountain, around the picturesque Dai Lai Lake from which it takes its name. The course itself is elegantly designed and features plenty of water thanks mainly to the aforementioned lake (particularly on the tricky back nine). However, it is sand which is probably more of an obstacle here, with some significant bunkering protecting the slick greens and the prime fairway landing areas. However, whilst the course is full of potential, at the time of writing it is not quite there yet, with some serious investment required to bring the facilities up to scratch.

The Mountain View Golf Course at Kings Island Golf Resort in Hanoi is part of one of the best golf complexes in the North with two great courses around one hour from the city. The Mountain View Course winds its way through the mature trees with great views of the distant hill. You can reach he course in around one hour from Hanoi along a new highway and the last part of the journey is by speedboat to the golf club which adds to the enjoyment of the day out.

Long Bien Golf Course is the newest addition to the Hanoi golfing scene and only 30 minutes from the centre of the city. Fairly typical resort-style course with mainly man-made obstacles. Not too long or difficult so will be enjoyed by all and is already a favourite with golfers in Hanoi. At the time of writing only 18 holes are open at Long Bien Golf Course and the additional nine are due to open sometime in 2015. This is a public giolf club so can get very crowded at weekends.

Chi Linh Golf Club is a very attractive 27-hole top-class course set in a wooded valley about 90 minutes from downtown Hanoi. A terrific course which has been very well designed with elevated tees, fast greens and great views. This golf course is also popular as a stopover when travelling between Hanoi and Halong Bay.

Legend Hill Golf Resort in Hanoi is the first golf course in Vietnam to be designed by the Jack Nicklaus, the world’s greatest ever golfer and is set to become one of the leading golf clubs in Vietnam. The golf course has been built in a beautiful mountain setting in an area called Soc San about one hour outside the city of Hanoi.

The Lakeside Course at Kings Island Golf Resort in Hanoi is part of a 36-hole golfing complex course in the around one hour from downtown Hanoi. As its name suggest this course uses the numerous lakes and ponds for most of its protection although the elevation changes and mature trees add to the degree of difficulty. This is one of the best golf clubs in Hanoi and is very popular with Hanoi Golfers and visitors alike.

The Kings Course (19 holes) is Kings Island Golf Resort's newest Golf Course. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus II, president of No.1 golf designer company Nicklaus Design, a world leader in golf design.

Halong Bay Golf Courses

Located a 3-hour drive from Hanoi, and around 20 minutes from Halong Bay you Will find the spectacular resort FLC Halong Bay.

Haiphong Golf Courses

Ruby Tree Golf Resort, located in Hai Phong City is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course that measures in at 6317 metres.

Dalat Golf Courses

Located some 30 minutes from the Vietnamese city of Dalat you will find The Dàlat at 1200 Golf Course, a residential resort that screams luxury. Dalat, founded by French colonies in 1898 is in the Lam Dong province and offers a new take on Hill Station living. The 3rd course in the Dalat area, it has shot to prominence quickly after opening, staging the first ladies professional event held in Vietnam.

Sam Tuyen Lam Golf Resort sits in a picturesque and forest-covered valley about 15kms from the centre of Dalat. The wonderful scenery and the cool mountain air make golf in Dalat a wonderful experience. Quite a challenging course with many elevation changes, well-placed bunkers and water hazards.

Dalat Palace Golf Club is regularly rated amongst the top courses in Asia and the only place in South East Asia where you can play on the sublime bent grass that everyone talks about, this is an experience not to be missed.

Nha Trang Golf Courses

The first of the Vinpearl Golf courses which nestles on an exclusive spot on Hon Tre Island of Nha Trang Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in the world, according to Forbes magazine. The course is approximately 35 minutes away from the Cam Ranh International Airport, followed by a 7-minute on board speed-boat.
