Cambodia Overview

Cambodia, located in mainland Southeast Asia, is bordered by Thailand to the west and north, Vietnam to the east, and Laos in the northeast, with a coastline along the Gulf of Thailand. The Dangrek Mountains in the north and the Cardamom Mountains in the southwest provide natural borders, while the country is cradled by three waterways: the Mekong and Bassac rivers and the vast Tonle Sap Lake.

Cambodia is a land of ancient temples, tranquil beaches, powerful rivers, and lush forests, where the beauty extends beyond the famous Angkor temples. After years of war and isolation, Cambodia has re-emerged as a captivating destination. As the heir to the Khmer Empire, Cambodia offers a rich cultural heritage, a historic French-inspired capital, stunning natural landscapes, and warm, welcoming locals, making it a truly unique and rewarding place to explore.

Cambodia Golf Courses

Handpicked Just for You

Siem Reap Booyoung Country Club in Siem Reap is a Korean-owned course and a quality affair, with 5 star facilities to complement an immaculate course where the wide fairways compensate for an awful lot of water

Phokeethra Country Club in Siem Reap is a prestigious and enjoyably challenging golf course where high handicappers could be in for a long day. Take extra balls because the endless water hazards are bound to claim quite a few.

Angkor Golf Resort in Siem Reap was designed by Nick Faldo who has managed to build an immaculately conditioned golf course which is not only visually stunning but will also provides a great challenge for the lower handicappers and huge enjoyment for all.

The Vattanac Golf Resort West Course opened a year after the East and designer Nick Faldo was determined that it should be a complementary contrast rather than part of a matching pair.

All golf architects must occasionally work around existing features when designing a new course. When Sir Nick Faldo began work at Cambodia’s Vattanac Golf Resort, however, the compromises were of a cultural nature.
The East and West Courses weave their way around what the resort calls “famous cultural expressions”; statues and scale constructions of historical Cambodian landmarks. None of which have stopped Faldo from producing two elegant courses, around twelve miles from the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh.

The Royal Phnom Penh Golf Club is situated in a great location, very close to the capital of Phnom Penh and a mere 8 kilometres from Phnom Penh International Airport. Therefore, whether you are visiting from abroad or living in Phnom Penh, the drive to the golf course will take little over 20 minutes.

In Southeast Asia, if heavy rain interrupts your round, most golf courses will offer rain checks for the number of holes you couldn’t complete, typically for 9 or 18 holes. Cash refunds are usually not provided, and rain checks generally cover only green fees. Many courses also have covered areas or shelters to help you stay dry while waiting. Since rain here is often short and quick, disruptions are usually brief. It’s always a good idea to check the specific rain policy of the course you’re visiting.

The dress code on most golf courses in Southeast Asia typically includes collared shirts, tailored shorts or trousers, and golf shoes. Avoid jeans, tank tops, and flip-flops.

Tipping practices vary, but a general guideline is to tip between $15 to $25 USD per round. Caddies appreciate tips for their services, and the amount can depend on the level of service provided.
