Warren Golf Country Club
Warren Golf & Country Club in Singapore has a rich history, named after its founder, the late Brigadier Derek Warren of the British Army. Originally a 4-hole course, it expanded to 9 holes with a driving range, and later moved to Choa Chu Kang, where it now offers an 18-hole championship course and various recreational facilities.
The course layout is both enjoyable and challenging, with several holes adjacent to a tributary of the Kranji Reservoir and the Kranji Expressway. Notable holes include the par-5 2nd, with a lake and bunkers along the fairway, and the risk-reward par-4 6th, featuring a pond guarding the green. The 9th is a long par-4 with fairway bunkers and water in front of the green, demanding precision.
On the back nine, the 12th hole intimidates with water and bunkers flanking the fairway and green. The memorable par-3 14th requires a tee-to-green water carry, while the challenging par-5 15th runs alongside water with bunkers guarding the fairway. The short par-3 16th demands accurate club selection due to its sand-surrounded green. The narrow landing area on the finishing hole tests golfers’ accuracy, with a well-placed tee shot opening up the approach to the green.
