A 30-minute drive from Chiang Mai brings you to this serene course, which sits on land once owned by the revered monk Kuba Sivichai, known for the Doi Suthep temple. The course is celebrated for its meticulous design and has won numerous awards.
The layout is challenging, with numerous bunkers protecting nearly every green. Accuracy is crucial to avoid these hazards and enjoy the well-maintained fairways and fast, true greens, though they can be tricky to read.
The front nine features flatter terrain, with notable holes like the 3rd, a par-5 with water and bunkers, and the 8th, which is guarded by 10 bunkers. The back nine offers dramatic views and more challenges, such as the par-4 13th with a water hazard and the long 16th, where a large bunker and a false front make the approach difficult.
The course concludes with a spectacular par-5, offering a chance to reach the green in two from an elevated tee, though many will lay up for a simpler approach. The resort provides excellent practice facilities, a well-appointed clubhouse, a spa, bar, and restaurant. Overnight stays are available for those wanting to fully enjoy the experience.
