Dancoon Golf Club
Located just 15 minutes from Khon Kaen, Dancoon Golf Club is a charming par-72 course measuring nearly 7,000 yards. Established in 2008, it caters to golfers seeking a rustic experience in Thailand's Issan region, away from the busy Bangkok courses.
Designed by DC Golf Design, Dancoon features two distinct 9-hole loops. The front nine is shorter and less challenging, while the back nine offers a longer, more demanding test. The course is set on gently rolling terrain with generous fairways bordered by small native trees that frame each hole but rarely obstruct play.
Water hazards are prominent throughout, serving as the primary challenge, while strategically placed bunkers add to the strategic complexity. The greens are smaller than average, emphasizing the need for accuracy to score well. The course is well-maintained, with excellent bunker conditions and true-rolling greens.
The standout hole is the par-3 11th, which features a small island green. The par 5s, particularly the 9th and 18th, require careful play over large water features that connect lakes, offering a dramatic finish to each nine.
The par-3s, including the challenging 7th, require precise shots over water to well-protected greens. The colonial-style clubhouse, though modest, provides essential amenities for golfers, and an on-site hotel offers convenient accommodation for those exploring Thailand’s golfing treasures.
