Greenwood Golf Club
Greenwood Golf Club in Pattaya, with its 27-hole layout, is celebrated for its stunning landscaping and picturesque setting. Designed by Open Champion Peter Thomson, the course blends natural beauty with strategic challenges, utilizing deep sand traps instead of water hazards.
The course, over 20 years old, features mature trees and lush plant life, framed by surrounding hills. Despite its relatively flat terrain, the man-made elevation changes add interest and challenge.
On Course A, the 8th hole is a classic dogleg with a wide fairway that narrows near the green. A stream in front of the green poses a dilemma between going for it or laying up.
Course B’s standout is the par-5 4th hole, a 550-yard challenge with minimal hazards off the tee, allowing long hitters a chance to reach the green in two. The real difficulty lies near the well-protected green, where precise approach shots are crucial.
Course C concludes with a demanding finishing hole, featuring ample sand and water hazards, making a par a satisfying accomplishment.
The clubhouse, recently renovated, offers modern changing facilities and an excellent restaurant serving good food and cold beer.
