Katathong Golf Resort & Spa

Katathong Golf Resort, a new addition to Phuket's golfing scene, is located about an hour north of Phuket Airport in a picturesque valley. The course, set on a former tin mine site, features numerous water hazards and a beautiful natural stream that runs through the back nine.

The opening hole is a challenging dogleg par-4 with out-of-bounds (OB) along the left side and a bunker at the turn. The 2nd hole is a long par-5 with a narrow landing area and water hazards. The 3rd is a straightforward medium-length par-3. The 4th hole, a long par-5, has trees on the right and a deep ravine on the left, with a narrow landing area and bunkers near the green.

The 5th is a medium-length par-4 with a stream across the fairway. The 6th is a dogleg par-4 with water hazards on both sides, requiring accuracy off the tee. The 7th is a short dogleg par-4 with a steep uphill approach to a two-tier green. The 8th is a picturesque par-3 with a lake on the left, and the 9th is a straightforward par-4 back to the clubhouse.

The back nine features a signature hole with an elevated tee to a small island green, challenging for high handicappers. The 11th is a long par-5 with a large water hazard. The 12th is a long par-4 with a stream cutting across the fairway. The 13th is a par-5 with a generous landing area but a narrow approach. The 14th is a straight par-4 with a stream and large tree blocking the approach.

The 15th is a challenging drive with a narrow gap between trees and a large bunker. The 16th offers stunning views but requires a difficult drive over a ravine to a table-top green. The 17th is a unique par-3 with a green elevated on a cliff, and the 18th is a demanding par-4 requiring a drive over a lake.

While the clubhouse is not yet open, plans include luxurious accommodations and a spa.
