Phuket Country Club
Phuket Country Club, the island's first golf course established in 1989, remains a favorite due to its scenic setting amidst rolling hills, limestone cliffs, and landscaped forests. Measuring 6,484 yards from the back tees, it offers a challenging yet accessible experience for all skill levels, especially with the added convenience of buggies.
The front nine features a series of demanding holes, including a par-4 with a tricky drive over a ravine, and a par-3 with an elevated green. Notable holes include the 4th, a challenging par-4 with out-of-bounds threats, and the 5th, a par-3 protected by bunkers and water.
The standout hole is the 10th, a 557-yard par-5 that plays around a large lake, offering the option to brave a direct shot across the water for a chance at the green in one. The back nine is flatter and more open but presents its own challenges, such as the par-4 16th and the island green of the par-3 17th.
The clubhouse boasts newly renovated changing rooms, a well-stocked pro shop, and a practice area. Dining is reasonably priced, making it a good spot to unwind after your round. Additionally, a members-only 9-hole course is available for use when the main course is closed for renovations.
