Suwan Golf Country Club

Suwan Golf and Country Club, located in the countryside outside Bangkok, is a challenging course known for its elevation changes, well-placed hazards, and award-winning design. It has hosted several major tournaments and is among the best golf courses in Bangkok. The course's undulating fairways and uneven lies make accuracy off the tee crucial, while the greens, with their bumps, hollows, and variable speeds, add to the challenge.

The difficulty begins early, with the 2nd hole, a dogleg par-5, requiring a strategic drive left of the coconut trees. The approach demands precision to avoid bunkers and out-of-bounds behind the green. The 3rd hole is a short par-3 where club selection is key, often influenced by wind conditions. The 5th hole, another tough par-5, challenges players to avoid fairway bunkers and water hazards on the right. The front nine concludes with a demanding par-4, featuring water and bunkers along the right side and a mid-iron approach over a lake to a sloping green.

On the back nine, the 11th hole is a scenic but daunting par-5, with water hazards on both sides and a challenging approach to a water-guarded green. The 12th is a pretty yet straightforward par-3. The 14th, a sharp dogleg left, requires a careful approach to avoid bunkers and water. The 16th is a mid-length par-3 surrounded by water and guarded by six large bunkers.

Suwan Golf and Country Club offers excellent facilities, including knowledgeable caddies who provide valuable guidance on the tricky greens. The clubhouse features modern locker rooms with rain showers, Japanese baths, and a Jacuzzi. Practice facilities include two putting greens, a driving range, and areas for bunker shots and short game practice. The on-site Thai restaurant overlooks the ninth hole and serves delicious local cuisine.
