Victory Park Golf Country Club
Victory Park Golf and Country Club, designed by James R. Vaughn and opened in 1997, offers a unique golfing experience in Thailand. Located 17 kilometers from Nong Khai near the Thai-Laos border, the course is popular with visitors from Laos due to its proximity. While it caters primarily to local golfers, the course has hosted notable events like the Heineken Amateur Thailand Championship and British Open Qualifying.
Spanning just under 6,900 yards, Victory Park is shorter by modern standards but provides a strategic challenge rather than a long-distance test. The course features a variety of hole designs that engage golfers throughout their round.
The opening holes are relatively straightforward, but the course's complexity becomes apparent at the 3rd hole, where a narrow fairway and a large lake demand precision. The 7th hole, a challenging par 5, features water hazards along its length and in front of the green, adding to the difficulty. The 13th hole, a par 3 over water, is particularly daunting and often impacts scoring.
The course is framed by large native trees and maintains good fairway and green conditions year-round. Although the clubhouse offers basic amenities and a simple dining experience, the staff provides a warm welcome. Victory Park may not offer high-end resort luxury, but it delivers a rewarding and pleasant golfing experience.
