Dalat Palace Golf Club, one of Asia's top-rated courses, offers a unique golfing experience with its bent grass fairways, tees, and greens—the only course in Southeast Asia to feature this premium surface. Established in 1922 and revived after periods of abandonment, the course gained its current form in 1994 after US investment. Situated 5,000 feet above sea level, the course enjoys a cooler climate, making it ideal for golf.
The layout includes challenging water hazards and sand traps on over half of the holes, testing skilled golfers, while wide fairways offer some relief for high-handicap players. Notable holes include the par-3 5th, requiring a 230-yard carry over water, and the par-4 7th, where golfers face a tough choice between a risky shot over two lakes or a safer but longer approach.
The historic clubhouse, built in 1956 and fully restored, features spacious locker rooms, a pro shop, and a restaurant with views of terraced rice fields and pine-covered mountains. The club also offers practice facilities, including a grass driving range, putting green, and practice bunkers, though even these won't fully prepare you for the deep pot bunkers on the 15th fairway.
