Dong Nai Golf Resort

Dong Nai Golf Resort, located just outside Ho Chi Minh City, offers a scenic and enjoyable golfing experience. Set around a large lake, this course is known for its beautiful surroundings. Although it’s a bit further from the city than some other golf clubs, it’s definitely worth the drive. Dong Nai was voted the best golf course in Vietnam in 2003 and remains a top choice, despite newer competition.

The resort features 27 holes, divided into three nines: A, B, and C. Each course has its own unique characteristics, with plenty of water hazards due to the large lake adjacent to the course.

On the A course, you’ll start by playing downhill towards the lake, then navigate a sharp turn and uphill to a well-bunkered green. The lake comes into play on several holes, including the par-4 2nd, where it intrudes twice on the fairway, and the par-3 3rd, which requires a carry over water to a green guarded by a bunker. From the 5th hole onwards, the layout is more inland with tree-lined fairways.

The B course is scenic, with notable holes including a long dog-leg par-5 2nd, protected by a bunker at the turn and a stream in front of the green surrounded by five bunkers. The 3rd hole requires a carry over water to the green, and the 8th is a par-3 with two large bunkers behind the green.

On the C course, the standout holes are the par-5 3rd, which features a narrow landing area with three bunkers, and the 4th, a par-3 with a long, narrow green surrounded by bunkers. The 7th hole is particularly impressive, requiring a carry over water for both shots, with the green guarded by water and a large bunker.

The clubhouse is basic but friendly, offering adequate food and on-site accommodation. There are also various other sports activities available. Be sure to book tee times in advance, especially on weekends, as the course can get busy.
