Jeongsan Country Club
Taekwang Jeongsan Country Club in Ho Chi Minh is a new, resort-style golf course located on a large island in the Saigon River. It’s just a 30-minute speedboat ride from District 1, offering a unique and scenic journey with great views of the city and port.
The course features a variety of tees, making it accessible for golfers of all skill levels. Though the terrain is mostly flat, numerous bunkers are strategically placed to add challenge. The speedboat operates four times daily during the week, with departures at 6:30 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, and 11:50 AM. Return trips are at 1:10 PM and 6:30 PM, with extra weekend departures at 5:00 AM and 5:40 AM, and a later return at 7:00 PM.
The Sun Course starts with a scenic front nine that follows the riverbank. Key holes include the opening par 4 with two large bunkers and a river to the right, and a long par 5 with several strategically placed bunkers. The par 3s are particularly picturesque, featuring water hazards and challenging bunkers. The course is known for its short par 4s, such as the 10th, which has large fairway bunkers, and the 12th, a memorable par 5 with cleverly positioned hazards.
The back nine continues with challenging holes, including a par 3 with water on the left and a par 5 with a bunker running from tee to green. The course ends with a dramatic par 5 where careful placement is crucial due to water hazards and a narrow green.
The club is part of a larger development plan, featuring a large clubhouse with elaborate facilities. Given its popularity, it’s advisable to book tee times in advance.
