West Lakes Golf & Villas
Vietnam's golf scene continues to grow with the exciting addition of West Lakes Golf and Villas in Long An Province. Located just over an hour west of Ho Chi Minh City, this course offers a great escape from the city.
Opened in 2018 and designed by the renowned Thomson Perrett, founded by the legendary golfer Peter Thompson, West Lakes Golf and Villas features an 18-hole, par-72 course that spans over 7,100 yards. Its key features include undulating fairways, strategic bunkers, and, most notably, water hazards. Every hole on the course incorporates water, whether it’s a lake, stream, or both, adding a unique challenge to each shot.
The 18th hole is a memorable par-4, requiring a careful tee shot over water and a precise approach to avoid bunkers and the water on the left side of the fairway. This final hole perfectly encapsulates the course's water-centric theme.
Throughout the course, water is a constant presence, including on the 1st hole with water running along both sides of the fairway, and the par-3 8th hole featuring an island green protected by bunkers. The longest hole, the par-5 7th, stretches 610 yards from the back tee.
In addition to the course, West Lakes Golf and Villas offers a driving range and a clubhouse with a spacious restaurant serving a variety of Western, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese dishes.
